Let's see, I have the manual, I could buy a case, and I have the training manual, but I can't have the actual phone?
IMO, it would have been a smart move by Verizon/Moto to release the Droid 2 prior to other devices receiving the 2.2 update OTA. Other than the N1, of course. From a marketing standpoint, they could have marketed the hell out of that.
It wouldn't have been that hard to accomplish, since it was already being packaged a couple weeks ago.
Good point. I'm guessing they wanted to push out and feature the DX as competition to the Evo. Just thinkin' out loud.
Don't forget, you're also subject to early termination fees on the phone you can't have.
Vanilla 2.2 or motoblur/ninjablur?
Wow... if that's really what the homescreen is gonna look like then it's ugly as hell. Huge ugly buttons at the bottom of the screen, even uglier than in Sense UI.
Yeah, you wouldn't want a nice big phone button on a phone.
I believe the Droid 2 is using essentially the same UI as the Droid X. But there's always ADW or LauncherPro. See http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-x/124658-what-do-your-x-screens-look-like.html for some ideas of what people have done for their Droid X screens.
I have the DX. Except for signed bootloader it is totally customizable. I have root and love it. I have no reason to believe D2 won't give you the same fine experience.
And with a louder speaker like the droid 1
