as in subject i occasionally get data charges, possibly because of something that i am doing inadvertantly, is there a way to stop my desire from going on the t-mobile internet or at least asking me prior to doing so?

i've searched about this and have wireless & networks/mobile network unticked.

Hole down the power button and press "mobile network" and it should then say underneath it "connect to mobile internet is OFF"

What does Tmobile say about the charges?

Are you on PAYG or exceeding your plans FUP?

MMSes require data. Are you sending/receiving them?

But the data aspect should already be covered. Never been charged to receive MMS, only send, and that's always listed under Picture messaging rather than data.

    no multimedia or picture messages,

only thing i can thing of is i may have accidently switched the mobile network while turning on bluetooth when i have problems with my handsfree carkit.

i tried to turn the mobile network off yesterday and turned it on by accident, then i turned it off immediately and this morning i noticed another small data charge on my bill. this is only for turning on the mobile network - no surfing.

thanks for all replies - i'll have to watch out in future.

    Are you payg?

You don't get charged for enabling your data IF your plan includes data.

First step, ask tmob what this charge is. Is this looking at current usage in your acct or an actual bill?
