... Data Connection Problem??

    Hello again...

    MY HTC Hero seems to constantly switch between Ev and 1x.

    And one day it was stuck on 1x for 5 hours! It really makes
    my phone run slow and sluggish.

    My Wife has a blackberry and she's always on Ev.

    Any one else have this problem?

    Think it may be a location issues. Where ur at but I may even wrong. Mine switches to.

    Have you tried updating your PRL

    I've updated to 2.1., updated profile, updated PRL and am up to date on software.

    I also did a hard reset...DOH!

    The phone seems to just not be able to pick up "Ev" for any period of time.

    It maybe your location, have you tried it elsewhere other than your home to see, do you live near the city, in the country etc.. all these are factors

    Blackberry's tend to get better reception in the first place, as shown by my girlfriend's blackberry having service in places I've never had service.

    Yeah I live near the city. It just drives me nuts! One minute it's super fast on Ev and
    the next second I can't even use my facebook app due to it being so slow.

    Like I mentioned sounds like you are doing everything right, it is probably your location, you can call Sprint but they will not guarantee signal issues in your house!! but hey call them and see what they say

    Go to settings>about phone>software information. What baseband version does it say that you have?

    LOL... Yep... All the hard reset does is make you lose all your apps...DOH!

    My baseband version is: 2.42.01.04.27

    That is the latest and up to date, what version is your PRL at, the latest is 60668

    Okay... I've kept up a close watch on my Sprint Hero today and here's what I've
    gathered as to the data connection...

    It seems that starting around 3-5pm is when my phone tends to start switching
    hard between Ev and 1x so I'm guessing this is due to an increase in users using
    their phones after work or what ever.
