Data Speed Issues In The Mid West

Anyone else having it? I live in S.W. Lower Michigan, and or the past 4 or 5 days, my data speeds have been much worse than normal. It takes me now about 15 minutes to download a 3mb app. Not only that, but the whole connection & speed thing seems to be far worse than normal. As for calls, though I have dropped about the same number in the same time span, all my calls have more static, and are noticeably more choppy.

Just tried to call CS. First thing I heard was a recording saying that if I was experiencing call or Internet issues, that they are aware of the problem and are working on it. The recording didn't offer any more details.

Maybe they're working on Network Vision

My phone been working about half the time for 6 weeks in central Minneapolis, MN. A few days down at a time, partial days, all kinds of periods of "no service".

I'm warning people: don't run a credit on your VM account, or trust them. After 35 emails (yes!) and 6 weeks my phone still doesn't work, and for about the 10th time, same thing, to quote them:

"They have discovered it is a network issue. They are working diligently on getting it resolved. At this time I do not have an estimation of when it will be cleared up. Please eail us back in 48 hours for another update if it has not changed."

They continue to bill me for service that doesn't work. You may be lucky, or not.

IT'S A RIPOFF people. A polite ripoff, but a ripoff all the same.

I'm by Chicago, my service seems to have gotten better recently. Is VM going to be affected by this Sprint buy up of US Cellular's midwest market?

My guess is that Network Vision improvements have been completed in your area recently, and that is the reason for the improvements. It is even possible LTE has been turned on in your areas (LTE has gone live in some cities around Chicago) and the improvement is from Sprint users moving to LTE, freeing up 3G bandwidth.

Sprint buying US Cellular's towers in the Midwest should improve things, but I believe the purchase must still receive government approval and, even when they do, it will be this summer before Sprint can add them.

Well, I'm not sure what happened except for my speeds to be much slower for a few days. The speed is back to normal, and nothing has changed.
I'm no where near looking for 4g in my area, when 3g hasn't even gotten right. Everybody else will be on 8g before we get 4.
