So work just gave me a Samsung Galaxy Spica, I've only had it for say 30 minutes, is there anything that I should know about (besides the beautiful screen and native divx support) . Can I upgrade to 2.X? mine is running 1.5, any other cool tricks?

Not entirely true. It depends on where you live if Samsung or your provider will update your phone from 1.5 to 2.1

You can (at your own risk), install the firmware for your region yourself. Takes about 6 minutes all in.

I have, as many others have, upgraded my firmware from 1.5 to 2.1.

    All went very smoothly.

    Try this for fun.
Download and install Shopsavvy from Market Place. (Note spelling)

Run it, and then from your PC/Mac.

Go to this link, and notice the square black & white QR Code image on the right.

Calendar Pad Android application | Android Tapp

    Back on Spica,
Click on Search for a Product,

Line up the camera image on the QR-Code Image.
eh volia, your phone looks up the app on Market Place.

Shopsavvy can aslo read barcodes off other items and find best price etc.

You can also try Google Shopper. Same idea with the barcodes thing.

I live in Canada and I don't think Rogers has an approved update.
