I read somewhere on here where there is an app that will give you "ring" tones. I don't care for music or any special stuff, just an effective ring or selection of them.

Also, not sure if it is a setting or not, but when it rang this morning it was talking at the same time telling me what the number was that was calling. How do i turn this off?

If you only want it to ring, go to settings, call settings, caller ID readout and select ring only. I actually like the caller ID then ring.

Yes, it says the number OR the name if you have the contact stored on your phone, then it rings. Kinda nice to know who's calling before you even look at the phone.

Remember that your GF or wife will hear who's calling too:eek:

I just tried it and got the same error message. I used this on my Droid to make my SMS alert and it worked fine. I still had the same file on my SD card for my Droid X. On my Droid X the only ringtones I have made so far is using MP3's on my X. I either have them on my laptop or use MusicJunk to download MP3's straight to my phone. Ringdroid works just fine for that. Recording something must just be a glitch on the X that hasn't been worked out yet. I'll email the developer and let them know.

And its so ironic because I been reading other post on many different sites and what I'm hearing is that its working, however the mention of the DroidX was never stated. Many other phones but not the X.... O well!

maybe late for your post, but i created an app that fixes this problem. it's on Google Play (search for "ringdroid qcp fix"). i would appreciate downloads from the market, but you can also get it from bodepauer.org . . . look for "bP record".
