Can anyone help me change it back

Did you configure it as a hotkey for Quick Compose in Handcent?

There's a free app called Button Shortcut hat lets you configure your camera button and search button with any app you want.

Simple if you are using Handcent. Go to Handcent-menu-settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom (last one) and uncheck the camera shortcut.

what I would really like to do is get rid of the damn camera button altogether. everytime I use the phone I end up launching the camera. if I want it I'll go fire up the app. I never did see what they put that there for.

call me a dummy but what is the "search" button?
