Help Deleting Gmail Account

I want to delete my gmail account and anything else attached to me so I can give this phone to someone else. When i try to delete it i get an error saying this account is needed for some apps. It says the only way to delete it is to do a factory reset. I dont want to do this cuz I want to leave all the apps on here. Is there anyway to do this.

Do a master reset. Settings<SD & Phone Storage<Factory Data Reset. You can also unmount and format your SD card from this menu.
