I have been looking around for a couple weeks and I haven't seen anything nor has a search given me anything on this. Every time that I delete my text messages, or the majority of them, it freezes up my phone for a bit. Does anyone have any problems like this? Does anyone know any fixes?

yea there are threads about this. its truly the biggest issue i have with this phone. its maddening how i cant delete large threads in a timely manner.

there is sms quick delete on the market, yet i get poor results from it. some others have gotten great results, but it deletes very slowly for me and it seems to stop working if the phone sleeps of any reason.

its the phone, not the sms program. handcent, chomps, default, all have issues deleting large threads.

That's kind of what I figured. Oh well. Not a huge deal, just kind of annoying to deal with. Thanks for the input.

Yes, there are lots of threads. Try to delete before you get to 500

I used to have the same problem. I downloaded sms backup and restore from the market and today it took about 3 minutes to delete 1000 texts. Still not super fast or anything but better than half an hour
