Mine has been doing the same recently. Not sure if it's Desk Clock or an alarm application causing it. I just unplug the phone then plug it in straight away and it finishes charging to 100%.

    Have you tried that?

It discharges and wont start recharging until 95 % if you leave charged in beyond reaching 100%.

    Known issue

I have juice plotter installed and for some reason the batt charges to 100% then after about 3 hours drops to 92% ish then charges back to 100% then 3 hours later drops again
If that coincides with me picking the phone up then I have lost a good bit of battery!

    Dunno what its all about!

Simply a firmware bug. Sure someone on XDA when they found this, proved it only happens if the phone is powered up.

It really is a basic mistake ,for the phone to not trickle charge ,never had a phone that i cant charge overnight.
Sad thing is when i emailed HTC they said it was a fault and if a hard reset did not fix it then a repair may be necessary.

They are aware of it. As to whether a fw update will fix, we don't yet know

Odd, because i charge my phone overnight and whether it's on or off, it's 100% by morning.

We have 3 Desire and an Legend in the family - no problems - they keep charged to 100% when left on charger (or charged through a USB-port on a Netbook).

If I check firmware, it says: 2.1 Update1

    Softwarenumber: 1.15.405.4.

Maybe it's a problem in the "old" firmware (before Update 1)?
