Root Desire Z free unlock?

hi everyone, im new to the android forum, and have sifted through a handful of pages, and have yet to seen any help or info on if its unlockable like the desire original. i tried the Desire_Unlock_v0.9.5 but it only works on the orig desire, and the sensation. just got this phone from a friend who upgraded his own, and was wondering if anyone or everyone has already been through this process already. thanks in advance for all your help and comments !
