did i root it right?

    hey guys im new here i got my htc cdma hero a few weeks ago and i saw the thread on how to root it from the link below
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583291

    now my question is if i rooted the phone corretly i should have a new file on my programs list, why am i not getting the new program file
    and what could be the problem?

    Go to the market and download a program that requires root access such as quick boot.

    If the program works then you are rooted.

    Download "Terminal Emulator" from the market. Fire it up, type "su" (no quotes). If $ changes to #, you're root... ftw.

    i downloaded quick boot and it works but dont i suppost to have superuser permissions or something like that on my phone?

    As in a new program, no.

    It's just like a computer when you sign in as an admin... you just get more access to stuff.


    Do you mind if I ask what your reason for rooting is?
