Different notification tones for different notifications??

I tried searching, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Is there an app/or way to set different tones for different notifications? Like, a different sound for a text, different sound for a voicemail, different sound for an e-mail, etc.?

On my windows mobile phones this was possible...the EVO being my first android phone, it doesn't seem like it is. That stinks. Help? Thanks.

You can change ringtones for each of these, but it has to be done within each application. For example, if you want a different ringtone for texts, you need to go into the text messaging app and go to its settings. From there you should be able to find Notification Settings and change your ringtone from there. The same is true for Gmail, Twitter, etc.

Ok, well I didn't really even think about it that way. That helps. What about an app/way to only hear texts come through and not calls? Basically turn the ringer volume off, but have the texts come through?
