Help Display not fully off?

The Display goes off after 15 seconds and I would knock on it bring it back. Usual places, sofa, table, car cup holder or even in my pocket, Display would go off..

Now all of a sudden, the screen no longer goes fully off, It just dims and stays that until I touch the screen. When I unlock the phone, either google search is opened or my file is opened.

Phone is rooted, OTA disabled through titanium.

Any ideas?

I saw that rarely on my old GS3. A reboot usually fixed it.

I might have to do a factory reset ..
