    Hello,
I have checked 40 pages of this forum and couldn't find any answers to this question, so I thought that I would create a new thread.

I have had an HTC Incredible since they were first released and I am currently running Froyo, the one supplied by Verizon, not some bootleg.

    I am not rooted.

This morning I rebooted my phone and ever since it has been constantly showing me an endless supply of system info in the top right of the screen. It doesn't matter if I am on my homepage, reading email, looking at the Internet, using an app, or even on the lock screen; this info is always cycling through.

    It looks something like this:
    2.05 / 1.92 / 0.85
    server_system
    panel_o/0

Sometimes there are many lines of into, sometimes it is small and only a few.

I have rebooted my phone in Safe Mode to check if it was an application issue and it still happens. This leads me to believe it isn't any of my applications.

Has anyone dealt with this before?
Any suggestions on what to do?

Never seen that before. Sounds like top is somehow running in the UI. My only suggestion would be to backup your apps/data, and do a factory reset. Then restore the apps/data if you are sure that none of them caused this. Otherwise, you can take it into vzw, where they'll likely try the same thing before giving you a new one.

I am going to go ahead and do a factory reset, I just have one question about this before I do it. When I reset it, will it be the new 2.2 Froyo that I updated to a few weeks ago or will it roll me back to the 2.1 that I got it with?

"Factory Reset" leads me to believe that it will be rolled back to 2.1 as that is what it left the factory with, but I would like to keep my official update. Maybe it just resets it to the current OS.

Before I do the reset, I'd like to know a little more.
    Thank you.

No it will not revert you back to 2.1!

Just to keep you all updated...

I went ahead and Reset my phone.
When it came back, the problem was resolved.
I went and downloaded MyBackUp again and reinstalled various things from my backup and the problem returned!

    Obviously.
    I should have known.

I reset my phone again, this time I did not bring everything over from my back up all at once. I just did Home Screen and Settings. And of course, it returned.

So I did it again and only brought back Settings (I don't really care about my home screen layout as I have screen shots of those). Well, that did it again. It is definitely something within the settings. Not sure what though.

I guess I will now do another reset and this time skip the settings and reinstall everything else and see what happens.

Well, it's looking good so far.
I took this amazing opportunity to finally link my phone to a completely empty email address. I was tired of having 700+ contacts in my phone, so I created a new account and linked it to that and then simply transferred in my 200 phone contacts and am much happier.

My apps are restored, but I am wondering what the problem in my Settings was. I wonder if it will come back.

I was kind of growing used to the constantly changing info on my screen and would have kept it if I knew what any of it meant.

This is what it looked like (look at the top right):
