Hello all. I just thought i would share my story about why i switched from incredible to droid 2, and couldnt be happier. Problems ive had with incredible:

-Terrible battery life (even with 1750mah)
-cant see the screen outdoors that well
    -gets hot randomly
-cheap plastic feel (the back would creeek)

Really the battery life was the deal breaker. I felt like i couldnt use my phone or id need to charge. So i sold my incredible for $365 on ebay and bought a good condition droid2 on ebay for $330. The droid 2 is a night and day difference. I can use all the phones features and get about a day and a half out of my extended battery (1860mah). The screen works good outside. It will still get hot, but only under heavy use. The phone feels solid and has a metal back.

To all those who are fed up with incredible issues, make the change because you wont regret it. I do realize a lot of people on here have no issues with their incredibles and will hate this thread, but im just sharing MY story to hopefully inspire others like me to make a change if needed. I really think its HTC that sucks and motorola thats champ since the droidx is awesome as well.

The only phone that will definitely make me give up my DINC is the DINC HD, but I'm glad you found peace elsewhere.

i guess i had the negative comments coming to me posting in an incredible fanboy forum (i once was one ;). I guess i just wanted to get it across that if your phone sucks make a change instead of dealing with it for two years. I do miss my inc camera though thats for sure.

You're a unique person, you know why? Because the Droid 2 was pretty unanimously criticized, and nearly every major tech site recommended the Incredible over it. But you prefer the Droid 2, so that makes you unique :)

Hopefully it stays that way. Would hate to see you get buyer's remorse...

I fooled around with a Droid 2 in the Verizon store and I found it to be really sluggish. But, to each their own.

I already posted this here but thanks to the over achieving mods, it was moved to the lounge where NO ONE WILL EVER SEE IT AGAIN. Anyway, you switched to a device that is CLEARLY inferior to the Dinc in every way. The battery life is not measurably better. My 13yo son uses the Droid 2. I had NO idea how bad it really is until I bought it for him this week. It is so s-l-o-w compared to the Dinc. Doing ANY task and I mean ANY task on the Droid 2 vs. the Dinc is like pulling teeth. Enjoy your marginally better battery life in exchange for a slower UI and overall feeling of CRAP!

He's keeping it until Saturday because he's going out of town on an 8th grade Washington DC trip and I couldn't change it before then, but as soon as he gets back that bad boy will be traded for a Dinc. I thought that the slide out keyboard would be good for him with as much as he texts, but there is NO way I keep it with the way it performs.

The OP said HE couldn't deal with the battery. HE wanted a "better" phone. If HE'S happy with HIS new phone, then more power to HIM. We can all argue and start a pissing contest about which is better and why but it doesn't matter unless the user of said phone feels that way. I, personally, would not give up my Inc for any phone out right now, or for any phone that I've seen that is coming out soon. It's nearly a perfect phone, IMHO! Yes, the battery is an issue, so I got a bigger battery. Problem solved. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Good luck with your new phone, hope you love it as much as I love my phone :)

OP, do you ever wonder why your USED DInc sold for more than 10% more than a D2, which is the newer phone by almost 6 months? BTW, I have a DInc, rooted, S-OFF, never on the same ROM for more than a couple of days at a time. I also have the Seidio 3500, which lasts more than two full days with light use. It never gets used only lightly, but I have an easy 14 hours and it's usually around 65% when I plug it in. AMOLED is pretty bad in direct sunlight, I'll give you that, but I too am waiting for the DInc HD, which is (I heard, might or might not be true) going to be 960x640, LTE, Snapdragon II (G2, MT4G, DZ, DHD) SAMOLED, and have the new new Sense (DHD, DZ) and an FFC.

I agree the Inc. has issues but when I tried the Droid X and Fasinate I found that it had by far the least amount of issues of the three. The battery is flat out dreadful on the Dinc IMO (comparing to an I-phone so not really fair) but much better than the lag, etc. experienced on the others.

Seriously, I use mine all day. I think people just leave their phone on max brightness sitting underneath flourescent lights at their desk or something. I'm using the Seido 1750 though, not stock.

I just deleted 15 posts and issued an infraction for one exceptionally disturbing post. Enough is enough guys, if you can't contribute in a positive manner then move along. Hell, even healthy debate is welcome but enough teaming up on people just because your Dinc brethren are doing it.

I seriously thought about swapping to the Droid 2 also. I love my Incredible but I got the Droid 2 to use for almost 2 months now and I've grown to really like it.

The battery life is amazing on the Droid 2. The stock D2 battery outlasts my Seido 1750 in the Incredible by a lot. I leave 3G on the Droid 2 and at the end of a 10 hour work day, with about one hour of web browsing, autosync on, and emails, it's around 80%. My Incredible would be at 65% with autosync off.

Also, reception and call quality is significantly better on the D2.
My cons for the D2 is that it's too bulky(case on), for me anyways, the camera is pretty bad for 5MP(really grainy), and the physical keyboard isn't that great. It lacks good feedback.

In the end, I went back to the Incredible because of the camera, sleekness and style, AMOLED screen, button layout, optical trackpad, and plus it was my first smartphone.

Glad you found a phone that was right for you OP.

I personally do not think that 7 hours of uptime is horrible battery life. I'd be surprised if someone can use their phone for that long constantly. If they are in one place that long, I'd say it must be a charger friendly environment so battery life wouldn't matter.

I just read they made the D2 OCable. Good luck!

Oh yeah my post, which was a joke, was sooo disturbing! Haha! Right...

I don't know who that clown in your avatar is, but I am guessing he is a rapper. If that's the case I'm sure some of the rap you listen has lyrics that are far more "disturbing" than what I posted.

This thread was started to stir trouble. It should have been moved out of the Incredible section and into the Droid 2 section. There it could have been seen has positive, but in the Incredible section it is all negative.

Anyway, back to the original post. First of all, battery life on the Incredible is not horrible. I would say it is average among today's high-powered phones. If you load lots of unstable apps that are constantly running then you might run into issues.

And mine never gets "randomly" hot, even with the thick Speck case on it, so I am not sure your battery was ever healthy.

The Dinc was my first android phone, talked my wife into droid since and she got the samsung epic. Playing with her phone, I think I'm going to be stuck with htc sense forever, cause whenever I play with her phone or droid X and droid 2 in the verizon store, I'm just lost on them.

Sure the battery sucks, but Epic is the same thing, I just bought extra batteries and chargers and it works fine. The only thing now that I wish I had is a bigger screen! My phone was fine when I bought it, but after using it for media and web browsing, the bigger screen is really NICE!

i played with the droid 2 a few times at the store and it is just wayyyy too sluggish for me. the dinc has awful battery life but i'd trade that for a speedy performance anyday. even swiping between screens seemed slow...no thanks.

I have never used the D2 but I assume it would be on par with my DX and Blur home is definitely choppy at best BUT it's not the hardware, it's the software. Blur home is just laggy period. If you install LP or ADW its smooth as a babys bottom.

Incredible without a doubt has the best UI I have ever used on a mobile device. It was always a real stretch to make it through the day on the battery but it was still very much usable.

I had intermittent call quality issues on my Incredible. The DX has a dual antenna design and 3 microphones. But that really doesn't matter much to me because I prefer to email or text over a phone call any day, I rarely make phone calls and when I do I use BT.

I have yet to get and Android device yet that wasn't worth keeping. All these devices have their ups and downs and we just have to pick the one that suits our taste and needs the best.
