Do charged batteries drain?

Hi!

I am going camping for a week, and as well as taking a spare crappy phone, I plan to take my S3 with me.

I bought 4 OEM official S3 batteries (cheaper than buying a 10000mah power pack), and wondered, do batteries drain when charged? And if so, what rate?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

I have two spare batteries for my Desire S. I normally rotate them every couple of months or so and they remain fully charged for that period of time. I have on occasion left it longer than that and the lowest I have seen is 96%, so the drain is negligible.

I have had the same experience. It took months for a 1500 mah battery from my Centura to drop three or four percent not sitting in my phone. You will be just fine.

Doesn't temperature play a part? You may wanna check that out. I have a feeling storing them cool is best but I have strange geek dreams so who knows

A working, good, charged battery will lose miniscule amounts of charge when not in use. I sometimes play with my N95 that was last charged almost three years ago. Still doesn't need charging after less than an hours use, battery in phon while gathering dust.

As all the posts have stated above, it does lose power. However, it's a very minuscule amount. Although I do believe temp has a factor in it as well. Whether or not it will be a giant difference...well I don't believe so. My house is usually about 80, and I have a few phones in drawers that I don't use very often, unless I feel like messing around with stuff...and the batteries are all fine on those. Been months since they have had a charge, and they power on without an issue.
