Root Do I still have root?

I have updated my previously rooted orange desire to the new firmware. After many pains I got the update to install. This removed clockwork mod recovery which is good as I want to be unrooted. After froyo had finished installing I noticed superuser permissions is still there. I did a wipe of the phone and it is still there. Do I still have root access? I have tried to uninstall but I am unable.

How did you install the update? Over the Air?

The only way to remove root fully is to download and run the RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) from your pc, which will completely wipe your device.

I updated OTA yes. I don't have root I tried su in the terminal emulator app and got access denied. But I still have the superuser.apk is there anyway to remove it?

Ironically, as superuser is in system/app, you cannot remove it without root access

The only way to fully remove root (in regards to it being undetectable by HTC for example) would be to run the RUU.

Ah well I guess it will just need to stay there. I'm not rooting again until the Orange RUU gets leaked.
