good for plane?
I have, movie looked great!
It'll work just fine, but this is really where tablets shine
I know but is it watchable?
I have done both. I travel a lot for business and will usually load a couple of movies on my phone to watch in the flight. Looks great and you don't have to worry about the guy in front of you leaning back and crushing your screen like I used to with a laptop.
As for shows, at the gym when I'm on the bike or the elliptical trainer I'll usually fire up netflix and watch a show or two. It works great and I've had a few folks ask me "Is that from the internet or off your phone? It looks awesome!
do the chicks dig it at the gym? thats another thing i'm worried about. i love when chicks jock my stuff, ya know?
Then why do you need a fancy phone?
cuz im all about the ladies son!
Oh yeah I do it's the perfect pocket entertainment! I got a couple of movies I bought from the store and it looks great. Now if you're asking would I rather watch it on this or Ipad I'd probably go with the bigger screen but now everyone else around you is watching.
I have not watched movies but I have watched Monday and Thursday night football on it. Works great. Screen is not too small IMO.
So would it be fair to say that you'd prefer to watch it on your s3 compared to a big screen tv at home
No, not by any means. However, it works great when I am away from home.
don't lie, you like it more than your big screen 60' flat screen, confirm or deny?
I use mine every Saturday morning to watch bbc iplayer "click" and then usually something on Netflix , currently enjoying "Lost"
Fantastic quality. If I had to give up my tv I could cope with just my S3.
I watch video on my S3 all the time. Screen isn't too small for me.
LOVE that avatar btw... Go Cats!
I agree that Tab is better but I love the screen on my girls SGS3, I could totally watch a movie on it
Thanks! Looking forward to opening tip off on Sunday at 2!
not sure about a full movie but great for little 2-3 minutes video clips
I actually use the movies i had ripped for my OG droid and they still look decent on the SG3. The resolution is just on the cusp of the screen making it look off at about 600 MB per 2 hour using "dvd to droid" but very watchable.
Netflix and Hulu are nice. HD Youtube is very nice. the Verizon NFL app is also very very nice.
Yep, Movies, TV shows and anime most days well commuting.
They all look fine to me, maybe a little dark at times but it depends what your watching.
The problem with my big screen TV is that it is difficult to bring it with my while I am out of the house.
I occasionally watch tennis matches on my phone if I'm out and have some time. I made a make shift stand for my phone using a business card or index card and scissors.
So basically you prefer the s3 to a movie theatre is what your saying.
depends on the movie theater. The one at our beach house is really cruddy Colin dark screen, sticky floors, uncomfortable seats, and a really crappy sound system. In that case a pair of headphones and my samsung phone make a better alternative. The 1 at home however, is really nice IMAX theater, brand new, comfortable seats, amazing screen and sound.
I watch a lot of video on my devices. I have a Plex Media server setup at home and Netflix account as well as Amazon Instant Video. I usually slip between using my 7 inch tablets, 10 inch tablets, and smartphones. The advantage with streaming is that I can easily pause and pick up on another device as needed. I watch all my video podcasts on my phone usually due to portability. It does better when you hold it in front of your face no more than 18 inches. Tablets you can just set up on the desk and watch them on the side why you're doing something else.
Don't get me wrong, but however the screen may be superb, whatever is the resolution, 4.8 inch simply aren't good enough to enjoy a movie, not that I watch movies that much, actually. Anyhow, I do understand it's the best solution if you are traveling, or are somewhere you don't have a TV, etc. It also playbacks quite well, and the battery lasts well.
