I love my new phone, but I HATE the battery life. I didn't even use it last night and it was fully charged when I put it down around 7 PM. I wake up this morning to a very low battery.

Is the battery life on the Motorola better?

I hate the battery life on my Eris, too. It's almost enough to make me pay Verizon's $35 restocking fee and another $100 for the regular Droid.

Sprint claims that the Hero has 5 hours of talk time.
Verizon claims that the similar Droid Eris has 3.5 hours of active use.

They claim that the Droid has 6.4 hours.

I've heard more complaints about the Eris' battery life than the Droid's, so I would say that the Droid's battery life is probably better.

i had the hero for 3 weeks as my work phone, and i can say that battery life on the motorola droid is much better than the hero. i'd say about 50% better in my experience with heavy use.

Check the Hero forums and make sure you got the little tweaks that vastly improve battery life.
