Does my phone update the android OS automatically?

    I have android 2.3 gingerbread and just curious if my phone updates that kinda thing automatically?

    It will automatically notify you if updates are available for it.

    hasn't the 2.4 gingerbread version came out?

    There is no 2.4... And 3.0 is tablet only. Android is now on 4.x. What phone model do you have?

    What phone? If you're device is set up to receive an update notification that there is an OS update, you'll be notified and can run the update.

    Apps can be set to "auto" update via the app draw. Wait, is this feature available in Gingerbread? I don't remember.

    I don't see this phone listed in the announcements about the ICS update: SAMSUNG

    It won't get an official update. Its running an older single core 800Mhz. Samsung can't even update the Galaxy S officially with a faster proc.

    root and flash a custom ROM that is based on a different version of Android
