Or is it just for headphones to listen to music?

Additionally, I'm wondering if I buy a 2.5mm jack handset (ThinkGeek :: Retro Phone Handset) if I can just get a converter to 3.5mm and if it will work. There's a part of me that assumes it's just not that easy.

If anyone has the answers to any part of this riddle, that would be amazing. Google and my brain are apparently on bad terms today.

    Thanks guys,
    Panda

No, that's the perfect example of the adapter I'm thinking of. A 3.5mm male that would go into the Desire and a 2.5mm female that would intake the handset.

I'm asking because of this peice of beauty: ThinkGeek :: Retro Phone Handset

Anyways. the more important thing I need to know if that a simple converter would work between the desire and such a handset. Because it's not hard to believe that there's something (like the microphone function) that could get lost in the translation.

Again, thanks for any help guys.
