Does the Galaxy S hold WIFI while locked?Support

    Apparently the new iPhone will stay connected to wifi even while the screen is locked. This is nice because with my current iPhone, I use about 3-4 megs of data a day even if I never leave my house (which has wifi). It would be nice if the Captivate didn't do that since I have the 200-meg plan with AT&T and I'd like to use my data for web surfing, not checking for email in the background. Would anyone mind checking this for me? Thanks!

    Depends on what apps you have. The google gmail app checks email all the time, but the rest of apps (facebook sync, etc.) can be set to update only once per day.

    Actually, the apps of fb themselves update whenever you open it- and yes it keeps WIFI even while the phone is locked.

    Wi-fi is set to go to sleep when screen goes off, but if you go into settings> wireless and network> wi-fi settings> then press the menu buton and select advanced you can change the wi-fi sleep policy.
