I've searched but couldn't find info on any specs sheet saying if the Reverb has MHL/HDMI out capabilities so wanted to see if anyone, in the off chance, knows anything I couldn't find. My hope is that not a lot of stuff is out there about this phone so it's a possibility it's just an unreported feature.

It'd be nice to only have to travel with this phone and not my tablet in order to load up a ton of movies and play it on any flat screen I want with a MicroUSB-to-HDMI cable.

    Thanks in advance.

A few internal files point to HDMI being enabled but I haven't actually tested it. I have a suspicion that this device was modeled after the S series which does support HDMI, so it should. Only way to find out for sure is try it.

Great, that gives me more hope than I had before. I wish the adapter cables were $2 to $3 like HDMI or mini-HDMI cables..I may end up eventually trying it though out of pure curiosity.

    Hello James391,

I was curious...did the MHL/HDMI adapter that you bought work for the Galaxy Reverb to connect to an HDTV? Thanks!

opps...previous message should perhaps be answered by KOAM who has a Galaxy reverb, unless James391 know the answer too!

Taking a quick look at the FAQ section of the "My Account" app shows that the phone does indeed work with a MHL HDMI adapter such as the one posted above

Without reading the entire thread...If you still need or if anyone wants to know for sure the answer is NO. The kernel creates three framebuffers for video on Qualcomm devices that have any kind of video out. This device calls for three but the FB for HDMI is disabled later in the code.

Does that mean that it could be used if you are running a custom ROM like Cyanogen?

So why wouldn't we just change the kernel to make it hdmi capable?
