Dogfood section and Play Daily showing up on the Google Play Store

This almost made for an exciting night. Sadly the Play Daily section doesn't work for my account and the Dogfood Apps section / Apps for Googlers doesn't show anything useful. There's plenty of apps, but they're the same version as the regular Play Store for me.

The APK version is 5.8.8. Shrug?
