I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere before, but the forum search feature wasnt too helpful. I would like to downgrade my 2.1 on my Eris back to the 1.5. Because this phone sucks and doesnt even work as a phone with the silent bug with 2.1.

Is there an easy way of doing this? Can someone take me thru the process?

    Thanks

I know you can downgrade to 1.6, but I'm not sure about 1.5. If you're rooted at least.

Use the newest method of rooting your phone and then go back to 1.5.

If you are not rooted this will totally work. You'll need your PC and the phone hooked into the USB port. I took this from a much older thread to save you the hunting down of it. I went back to 1.5 promptly after the silent phone bug hit me. I'm sad but the phone is behaving now enough for me to consider an 'X' or an Incredible for a long-term piece of hardware since the Eris is discontinued. Anyways - here are the steps:

1.Download the MR2 Uprade Eris ROM from verizon partner:

    http://www.pcdphones.com/downloads/ADR6200_MR2_Upgrade.zip

    2. Unzip the file
    3. Plug your phone to your PC/MAC.
    4. Find your folder (MAC or PC folder)
    5. Run .exe file in the folder "RUU_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_1.17.605.1_release_s igne d_with_driver.exe"
    6. follow on screen instructions.

You should be good to go.

1.6 was never available for the Eris. So you most definitely can downgrade to 1.5.
