What is your impression of what Froyo will do for the "X". What is your estimate of Quadrant scores, Linpack, etc.

I think if this device was launched with it people wouldn't have some of the lagging problems. Like the screen lock and the blur home screen.

Im thinking of 2000+ in quadrant and hopefully around 18-20 in linpack but that may be pushing it.

I have disabled my lock screen, because I keep it in a holster no problems.

A Snapdragon with Froyo gets over 40 in linpack and the Droid X's OMAP processor is more powerful than the Snapdragon.

Yeah, the reason the Droid couldn't hit that high in Linpack with Froyo is due to its RAM deficiency. Even at 1.3GHz, people were only getting like 18.

Since the X has the same amount of RAM as the N1, we should be getting ~40MFLOPS too.

easily above 2000 i mean you can look at the quadrant and what the N1 started at and what it was at after getting froyo and the X is already close to that and in some cases above that. Hopefully froyo will fix the lock screen lag other then that this phone is gonna be smoking fast and oh damn amazing

Linpack, Quadrant, or any other benchmarking apps mean absolutely nothing for most users. It would be nice if Lag is completely gone.
Just look at N1 and Inc, they have nearly no lag and X clearly has the superior device, we need to stop drinking the benchmark cool aid.
*also Galaxy S with even better Chip has even more lag, so yeah, hell with the benchmark!!!
