    Hello All,

First day on the forums...Since i got my incredible, i have been fed up with the battery life (as many others are as well). I downloaded a task killer which has helped tremendously since then. My battery life will last me about 24 hours, a full days worth, before it dies and then i charge it while it is turned off. And this full day battery life is with VERY limited use and task killer.

I would love to use my phone more (what was the point in buying such an "incredible" phone anyway?) and am considering purchasing a larger battery. I dont really want the humungous battery that needs a deeper back cover, I use a phone case. I just want a higher capacity battery that will fit with the stock cover/same size as the original battery.

I know there is a 1500mah HTC branded battery (red color) and I also have heard of Seidio batteries. Are there any other trusted brands? Which is the best bang for your buck? I dont want to spend more than $50, because to me its not worth it to spend a C note on a battery like some people do.

And ALSO, when will my Incredible receive the Froyo 2.2 update?!

Do not let your phone "die" very often. If at all possible don't let it go below 20-25%. Allowing it to fully discharge every day (or even every couple of days) will burn it out pretty quick. If you find yourself running low, charge it in your car on the way home from work or even at your desk while at work.

Task Killers are something that I do not recommend, at all. You can do your own research into that though, there is tons of info here on the forums.

I have the 1500 battery from bidallies (EBay) and it's great. I actually have 2 of them and carry the spare in my purse just in case. In the 2 months I've had it, I have never had to actually use it.

The 1500 will give me about 27-30 hours life with around 4-4.5 hours of use.

Don't waste your money on the Seido 1750, it's just a 1500 in disguise. My $15 EBay one is just as good, if not better.

Aaaaand another battery post. I love the preface... I am new to the forums but.....

Seido 1750 if you want to keep the slim look. Otherwise just get a big battery, don't obsess over task killers and analytical data. It all points to one thing =suck

Or just get the VZW extended battery. I did and am really happy with it. But if you are hung up on a case then go with some of the other options mentioned above.

?! What are you running on your poor phone? You've gotta have something seriously power hungry to eat it up like that. I get better off stock. During all the testing early on the average for stock was found to be about 18 hours unplugged with 4.5 hours awake, including running games and medium-heavy usage apps. ( A lot of people run Pandora. ) So you would have to be draining the battery at about twice the rate to get less time with a bigger battery.

To the OP: The only way a task manager can noticeably improve battery life is if you have bad apps. You should really look into that.

I have the 1750 and im not convinced i have any extended battery life, i switch often between stock and extended and dont notice much difference.

I was thinking of trying the other slim 1500 battery, but are you saying they are the same thing?

    That's because you don't really :(

The 1750 is really just a 1500 hidden in 1750 packaging. There are a couple of threads over in the accessories forum (I think...) about it. One of our posters went to great lenghs to prove it (including pulling the battery apart to check codes and doing extensive testing with actual battery testing equipment) and the "answer" from Seidio was simply "we are right, you are wrong, but we can't tell you why cause it's a secret". Yea, right

If you want an extra battery (without the extra size), get the $15 one from Bidallies on EBay. He is highly recommended around here.

If you are going for a real extended battery, just go all out and get the 3500.

The other 1500 HTC OEM I ordered is red. Will that be just like the ones Bidallies has? I THINK the only difference is it's red (for the EVO) But it is brand new and has the same numbers on it that people suggested.

    Yes and yes. :)

Well I can't say for sure since I have never used it (mine from Bidallies is black) but if it has all the same codes it should be the same.

ebay is fine, just cant use paypal. Which is the only option on ebay lol

I sold some game currency to someone, delivered it, but then they charged it back saying they never got it (which they did).

Paypal reversed it regardless of any forms of proof i had, saying they wont back me or even investigate because it was "virtual goods" meaning no physical tracking.

I said eff you. They said no no, eff YOU! lol

now i cant use paypal. That was 10yrs ago or so, and they still wont let me use it

    Ouch, that sucks.

Do you have a wife, GF, sibling, good friend, etc that has a paypal account? I am sure you can get someone to order it for you and just hand them the cash to cover it. Off the top of my head I can think of 6 people to call right now and have them do it for me if I needed.

I have 3 Incredibles in my household. I got Verizon to send me 3 of the HTC 2150 Hi Cap batteries.

On my phone (the 1st Inc we got) I started with the standard battery and then put the HTC 2150 on once I received it. Used it for awhile, then went back to the standard. My opinion is this. The 2150 GREATLY increases battery life, period. It also increases the physical size slightly, but it become unnoticeable in a very short period of time and did not contribute to my decision to switch back. I switched back because I wanted to use my Seidio innocase and it wont fit the 2150, also, I can charge at work, but often dont even have to. Bottom line, the stock battery is good enough for me. That said, if they made a quality case that would fit the 2150, I would run it in a heartbeat, just for the extra life.

When I went to the big rally in DC last week, I mounted the 2150 and carried it because I knew I would be away from any charger for a long period of time. Worked like a charm. Took lots of pics, texts and phone calls throughout the day including video. I got back to my hotel with over 50%. So, for me, I am sticking with the stock battery because it works fine for me, and I want to use the case.

When I was able to upgrade my wife from a problematic Droid Eris to an Incredible it arrived, as usual, without a battery. The only battery we had on hand was my Hicap that I was not using. So, to get her activated the same day we received the phone, we mounted the 2150 and extended back on her phone. She used it with the hi cap on it and loved it. Once her standard battery arrived, I had her try it out, in order to be able to use the other Seidio innocase, but she preferred the feel of the phone with the hi cap on it and she had run it ever since.

The third Incredible was the one I bought, when I added a line for my daughter and bought her an Inc for her birthday. I gave her the phone in standard form, and an Innocase. Also, I gave her the last 2150 and told her to try and use the standard battery so she could use the case. She has tried both and eventually settled on the stock battery and Innocase. She did buy a car charger so she can top off easily.

Sorry that was so long, but that is basically a synopsis of how the three of us felt about the stock battery life vs the 2150. We all three had a choice of either one and 2 of us settled on the stock battery. But I think my daughter and I both would run the hi cap if we had a quality case as an option.

i had a stock battery w/ HORRIBLE life. like, having to charge at 3pm. but i think that was software problems, facebook for htc sense, etc. EVEN after I got the 1500 htc oem battery, it was still bad. then I hard reset and everything's pretty much great.

when i'm at work, i can even leave gps on and go all day w/ it fine, making it to like 8 or 9 at night until like 14%. however, on a weekend, i'm away from my laptop a lot more and i will need to charge it more frequently.

i also have 2 stock batteries, so the other day i was at an amusement park (dutch wonderland, for those curious), and i had to put in an old battery to keep the life going. i had to put it in early cuz i realized that running gps and bluetooth and navigation in the car, the car charger could not keep up. i went from 90% before the trip to like 65% after the trip... even though it was plugged in!

    ai yai yai.

anyways, the 1500 htc battery is what i have, i got that instead of the bidallies 1500 cuz i read problems where a few (apparently very few) users couldn't get the battery to fit in the case (cuz technically it's not made for the Incredible). i figured i'd be the one that got one that didnt' fit.

one thing i did notice, however. the back covers were NOT meant or built for all this battery switching. i think mine has a small crack or something from switching out batteries.

well today is my 1st full day with the bidallies htc touch pro 2 1500mah battery and so far so good streamed mp3 over bluetooth for like 20 mins, i made a few calls, checked facebook and emails several times, downloaded some email attachments and turn on the home screen to check for messages.

settings: froyo 2.2 wifi and gps OFF, bluetooth ON, sync for gmail is push, brightness is turned down to like 25%.

now im at 11 1/2 hrs (off the charger) with 47% left

i charged with the phone off and bumped charged for 30 mins more (with it off). im gonna abuse it later with some wifi browsing and some calls and see how long i can milk it

BTW my battery cover doesnt close all the way also but its barely noticeable on the side towards the bottom on 1 side. what i noticed is

1.make sure the battery is set in right
2.place the battery door on from the top first
3.press the side of the door where the volume buttons in first

i have a speck candyshell so the phone is in there tight enough anyway
