Help Drivers will not install

Ok Ive googled the hell out of this. Heres my situation
Im runnings windows 7 64bit, downloaded 2 64bit drivers files and installed keis.
Everytime I plug the phone in it sais driver install failed.
Odin wont find the phone so i can flash back to eclair
I've done this a lot on my buddies computer problem free but my system will not load the drivers......Im lost. Really want this Rom off my phone.

Ive gone through a few threads but i never see a solution.
THE ONLY THING I HAVENT TRIED.....is using a different USB cable....but the phone only comes with 1? How the hell are people using multiple cables? buying another from AT&T?

I think everyone has this problem. I've tried 4 different drivers, and it's worked only ONE time. That was the time I rooted my phone.

But yeah drivers suck ass. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling sooooooo many times.

I had the same problem w/unrooted phone after upgrade to 2.2, also using W7x64. It resolved when I did a hard boot of the phone, i.e., off, battery out, and reboot. Windows immediately recognized my drivers and downloaded what I needed both for Kies mini and my SDK adb.

EDIT - I went back in w/USB Debugging "off" after the reboot.

I'm using XP Pro on a laptop, but had fatal errors with drivers on upgrade, I went in to Device Manager, located Samsung USB, updated driver, allowed to search Internet, success, upgraded then worked. Just an idea.
