Droid 1 Earpiece Static in the background

I've noticed my Droid 1 has static from the earpiece when on a phone call and the caller on the other end stops speaking. It's especially noticeable when talking to someone with an HTC Incredible Droid. The static sounds like someone crinkling up a sheet of paper when there is dead background silence on a call. I also notice a hissing type sound as well that sounds like the other person has me on speakerphone while driving in their car. Has anyone had a similar experience on their Droid 1 phones? I've done some comparisons and no one can hear the static on their end of the call, and also the HTC Incredible does not seem to have this issue. Thanks for your feedback

Yup, I have the same problem with every single Droid 1, I have had.
I am not sure what it's caused by, but I have done everything to
try and fix it. I did a battery pull, full reset, turned off voice privacy,
and nothing has helped it....

Yep! Same problem. I actually had my first one replaced because I thought it was defective. Replacement did the same thing. I wish it had the call quality of my blackberry lol. At least it only happens when no one is talking...

It seems to be worse when calling cellphones, because I don't notice
it as much, when calling a landline. I asked Vzw about this, and all they
will do, is just send another replacement....
