Droid app?

Just got my droid on verizon and it came with an app i was curious about. It's the one called "car home." It appears to me that this is a combination of voice search, dialer, contacts, well, all the things that come up on the screen when you launch it. Does anyone have any idea the thought behind this app? Is it just designed as a "one stop shop" for those things you may need in your car so you don't have to dig through the app list?

that's exactly what it is. Basically so you can navigate through the basic functions of the phone while driving without having to go through the complicated menus

When you put your droid in its car holder it automatically launches Car Home

ahhhh...there's a car holder....well now that makes sense....
