Hi I recently have gotten an HTC Droid Eris (2.1 version) and I was wondering if it was possible to have live wallpapers. If so I would like to download anything to make it possible. If you have any information on the subject please tell me ASAP :)

Live wallpapers are rather impractical for the Eris due to it's relatively low system specs.

You can't use a lot them, due to it slowing down the home screen too much or not running at all. Contrary what people think, they do NOT run in the background while your in another app, since they are on low priority.

I found a very nice one, that draws lines in a fancy way, and the Eris could use it pretty well, since it was so simple. I can't find it on the market anymore.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was "Lines - Live Wallpaper" by Per Jonsson

Yeah, I tried LWP for about 30 minutes. It's kind of gimmicky really. Even overclocked, the phone is nearly unusable with it running.

But if you really want them...you will definitely need to root.

If you're rooted, just flash a ROM that doesn't have live wallpaper.

You need to root to do it. Look in the "All Things Root" section.

How do you have live wallpapers if you don't know what flashing a rom is?

Are you using an Eris or something else?

It's happened. Flash a radio with a bad hash and see what happens.

Hop over to the dev forum and you'll see a few.
