Are Phone contacts backed up on the Eris or just the google contacts? When I input a new phone number on the Eris, the only contact source that is provided is "phone". When I input a new phone contact on my laptop on my google account it shows as a google contact. I am afraid that the ones that are phone contacts are not backed up anywhere.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

Do you have your device set to sync automatically?

Yes, my phone is set to automatically sync with my gmail account. The problem is that any contacts that are added as "phone" contacts do not carry over to my gmail contacts. If i input the contacts directly to Google via a computer, then they show up on my phone as "Google" contacts.

Contacts are saved with your gmail account. To check this go on your gmail account on a computer, select "contacts" and then check if your # and contacts are in there, if so when you hard reset (or other reasons that might remove contacts) you need to use the same gmail account, and all of the contacts are still there.

Well, not true for me. I did a sync and all it saved are the group names, not the individual contact list.
