I am updating to ICS as I am typing this thread. A lot of people have been bitching about battery life on the droid razr in general. When I had gingerbread, I had task killer, process killer, and only in 3G and my battery life was fine. People said ICS murders the battery. I also have looked into it, and people have found ways to get ****ing incredible battery life and I am wondering if anyone can help me get that. This is my first android phone and I don't know much about them. I was an iPhone hacker! Please and thank you!!!

Get rid of the task killer! It does more harm than good! ICS doesn't kill the battery ...LTE does. If you're not on wifi keep your phone on 3G if you're not actively using it for something.
Limit screen brightness and background data. Also limit widgets. That's a few tips to extend battery life. I however am usually near an outlet and wifi I also love my widgets and live wallpapers. So most of the time I'm not worried about my battery life so I have lots of things going on. :)
    Smart actions help also.

I updated to ICS a couple of days ago, and I have to admit that the update completely ruined my battery life. Yes, I am very aware of all those "tricks" like limiting the screen brightness etc., but the battery life is still pretty bad. I e-mailed Motorola about the problem and asked if there would be anything they could do with pushing a small update, but if not, I think I will root my device and see if any of the available 4.0.X custom ROMs would be a bit kinder to the battery. Any other tricks are of course welcome as well.

For example, I went to sleep with 50-60% battery left and when I woke up 9 hours later the phone was dead. This never happened with Gingerbread, even with 3G on.
