Droid? Over the Incredible? I hope you're not serious.

If I were you I would go into a store and try typing a few lines on each phone. I find that the physical keyboard on the Droid really isn't much to write home about (no pun intended).

But if a physical keyboard is a requirement for you, I think you've got your question already answered.

I suggest trying out the Droid's keyboard before deciding that it's a must-have.

I thought the same, coming from a Blackberry 8310. It's useful. For games and that's about it IMO. I primarily use Swype on the Droid.

You really need to tell us more about what you want/need for meaningful recommendations. Otherwise you're just going to get fanboys pushing their preferences on you.

Devices aren't one-size-fits-all. There are certainly reasons to pick the Droid over the Incredible.

I use my keyboard nearly exclusively since I discovered keyboard shortcuts. I also like to use the device I landscape mode with the screen slid out. It's more comfortable to hold.

The snapdragon processor in the incredible is amazing, but I really love having the physical keyboard.

Try them both, and good luck!

You're right, some people seem to need a physical keyboard (even if it's a terrible one). You seem to be one of those people. And if you're happy with it, that's great. It is a really nice phone.

Dont get me wrong, I think the Inc is very nice! I just need the keyboard in particular, I also apprciate the Dual LED Flash it has, but beyond that the Inc wins hands down, you can go wrong with either phone imo, the best thing though is android! I mean cmon imagine if either had windows mobile......:D

I Had 8125, 8525, then a tilt, then a tilt 2, touch pro, touch pro 2, then a droid. After I got swype on the tp2, I found that I never used physical keyboard, and I put swype on the droid and never used the physical keyboard at all. So I got the incredible and never looked back...

Personal preference guess, but the form factor on the slab phones is better and I personally don't miss the keyboard at all...

The snapdragon is about to be overtaken by Intel's new processor due in phones later on this year.

If you're all about the latest and greatest and are getting the Incredible solely for the Snapdragon processor, it's already five months old and this new Intel processor is supposed to be 1.5 Ghz and standby time of ten days.

Rumors, at least on the performance aspect, but still something to think about if you don't like changing phones often.

^Even though this was posted about 2 weeks ago, lol, I'll answer your question in case you never found your answer. It's an app or whatnot that allows you to drag your finger to different letters in a word, on a touch screen keyboard, and it will make a word out of it. Don't need to lift your finger to each letter, just draw/swype to each letter. It's actually very accurate and quick.

I haven't used the Incredible, but I have a Droid and do prefer the physical keyboard.

One specific reason I prefer a physical keyboard is playing Sega & SNES Roms. You slide out the keyboard and it becomes a nice makeshift controller where you can configure the buttons however you want. So you have the game on the full screen with the key board out so you can actually mash some buttons, instead of tapping a screen.
