"Seen above are the two photo samples from the 8 MP camera of the Droid X. From the EXIF data of the image I can confirm that this phone was running Android 2.1 update 1 and will not ship with Android 2.2.'

I would assume all Droid X's out in the wild have 2.1 and this would be why you can confirm that but with no release date being given officially, how can you confirm it won't ship with 2.2 by it's launch date when we don't even know when that will be yet?

    Holy stretched image, Batman!

I'm going to be very skeptical of the photo quality from this phone based on the photos from Engadget. Hopefully they will have made the camera button not as stiff since then.

In the droid x thread at anandtech their is a tester who says that the engadget version must but pretty old because his camera button is not stiff at all. He also said that u don't need to touch the screen to focus but instead u focus by half pressing the camera button
