Help Droid X Pictures and Videos

I am having problems with pictures and video that I took recently. I have a Droid X phone. The pictures do not show up in my gallery app on my desktop. I have to open an app named file manager, then phone files, dcim, then camera. I see thumbnails of the pictures and video. I touch the screen to open them and it loads for a few minutes but doesn't open any pictures. The screen goes back to file manager. A picture I took today is still viewable. Why can't I view pics from 3 weeks earlier? There is nothing in my gallery. I'm confused. Any hep would be appreciated.

Are you rooted on Apex? If yes, switch to the Motorola Gallery from the 3D gallery.
