Droid X, S3, and back again. Where's my apps?

I had about 100 apps on my Dx, bought the S3 and when activated, it restored all my apps automatically to the S3. I returned the S3 and decided to SBF my phone. I lost root. Cant get root back. How do I at least get my apps back? The S3 "just" did it by itself. I thought the vzw backup app would do it, but my phone is empty.
    Backup Assistant only restored contacts.
Where do I find all my apps?
Google play under my apps only has a few that I started to download, 20.
All has a list of what appears to be all the apps I have ever downloaded to include what was uninstalled. However, to reload, I have to select, accept, download, each. The list defaults back to the top of all the apps every time so each app, I have to scroll down, way down, wait for it to buffer and fill, then select the next app.
    What updated my S3?

When you logged into Google play, did you do so from the phone, or did you log in from a PC on the web? I found that if I logged into Google Play from the web on a PC, I was able to look at all my apps, then choose to download all of them from there.

If you did log into Google play from a PC on the web, I'm not sure why you'd only see 20 of 100+ apps there. I hope your apps are still listed and that you can download them.

Also just curious, why did you opt to switch back to your DX from the S3? I've had my S3 since Wednesday, and absolutely love it. The email interface on the DX was definitely better, but I like everything else about my new S3.

I had one that had poor reception. I would not have any 3g/4g while my razr (wife's) had 3 bars of 4g in the bedroom. Several dropped calls in my house where for the past year on the DX literally never dropped one on my DX. And on my morning drive to work, i get drops in streaming radio on the S3.
No BT and headphone jack at the same time which is how I get streaming radio into my car. When someone calls, I have to unplug the headphone jack up on the dash.
Endless wifi notifications in the drops down AND pop up Wifi notices about "Known WiFi network detected. Connect?" EVEN with WIFI OFF.
Not worth it for a $600+ phone.

You're right $600+ is stiff for any phone. Thankfully we had subsidies which brought the price tag down substantially. I instructed my IT guy that we'd preserve our unlimited data and then use the subsidies all up on S3's - do or die. So far so good for us. We must have gotten a good batch.

Did you recover your applications? I'm hoping you were able to locate and download them.
