Today, I was looking at the Iphone4 in the AT&T store. An AT&T repersentative person comes up to me and asks me "Do you have any questions on the iphone 4?" I say "It looks pretty cool but I think my phones better" *grin*. She smiles and sorta laughs and says "Well what kind of phone do you have?" I say "DROID X" her smile went to a serious face and says "Oh" I respond with a "yeeaaaahhhhhhhhh" LOL I think we have for sure found the solution to shut iphone owners mouths.

Mentioning the Droid X. You were asking about the solution to shut iphone owners mouths right?

Way to be just as smug as an iPhone user. I for one prefer to be the humble jesus of the android world. "Whatcha holdin there", "What, this? Oh it's nothing. Just a droid x."

Really...walking into an att store, pretending to give a crap about whatever they have there and then to make the sales rep feel awkward for doing her job just smells of troll. But hey, i may be wrong. Did you walk out with an iPhone 4? Oh yeah...

I found it very easy for me to dump AT&T (and my Blackberry) for the Droid X. My first remarks after I got it home and started "testing" it were: "I Want To Have Its' Baby!"

I would love the Verizon iPhone. Not trolling btw.

They all have their benefits, I just need to be able to call on cell phone, and AT&T can't handle that.

It's really funny being from both sides of the same fence, because when I was an iPhone (from day one) user, it was the Android users that seemed really smug and envious, very quick to downplay the iPhone, and now that I'm an Android user I actually see it a lot more and still defend the iPhone.

For what it does, the iPhone has simply THE most gorgeous user interface on any mobile device I've used. For a lot of people, aesthetics are directly proportional to usability.

That's what's hard for me right now, because a lot of the apps I need to replace from my iPhone with Android apps are simply too ugly for me to use, and I will actually sacrifice usability for aesthetics.

I think everyone needs to stop caring what smartphone, or car, or personal computer everyone else has, and continue to enjoy what you will, for whatever reasons you see fit. Going into an AT&T store to show off your Droid X makes you no better than the iPhone 4 owner that goes to VZW asking if any of THIER phones have a "Retina Display."

Sorry for this long wall of text, but those types of users such as 1324356565 are really what destroy the fun of smart-phones for me sometimes. If you needed to go out of your way to go into a store and try to gain acceptance for a phone that you BOUGHT, not MADE, BOUGHT, you may need to re-evaluate your personal life.

I completely agree. Honestly, why should people be hating about a phone. There are ALOT of things the iPhone has the blows Android out of the water, and there are alot of thing that Android blows iPhone out of the water. People always have to compare there "phone" to the iPhone. , its because internally people want to make themselves "feel" like they have the best phone out there by knocking down its main competitors. The best thing about phones is our ability to chose, and not gonna lie, alot of people have chose the iPhone 4, and alot of people have chose Android, does that mean they are wrong? No. Its all your personal decision and there is no need to go INTO an AT&T store to BRAG about a phone. Lets rewind this to 2007. iPhone (original) owner walks into a Verizon store....looks at Verizon's BEST Phone---Voyager....and brags....did this ever happen?

I love cellphones as much as anyone else , I'm using both the iPhone 4 and Droid X and I enjoy them both. However, in the end, they're just phones.

I hope to God I never feel the need to belittle or disparage someone over a phone because that would mean that my value system is way out of whack.

Here's my opinion if anyone cares lol :p

BOTH phones are great. Honestly. They each offer wonderful capabilities and I don't think anyone would ultimately be unsatisfied with either one. If I didn't have my X, I'd have the iPhone 4.

I was with AT&T before this and was simply tired of the iPhone. I'd had it for so long, I wanted something different...and for me, I loved how customizable the Android software was. Unless I hacked my iPhone (which I did), I couldn't customize much at all.....and Droid allowed me to customize even more with widgets, etc. running

Toss on that the fact that I had serious issues with AT&T's service in my area and the Droid X was the clear choice for me....and I've never been happier!

I remember seeing all the "idon't" commercials way back when. I thought they were cool but I remember hearing everyone talking about an iPhone killer and ooohhhhhh these droid phones are going to be WAY better! Sounded to me like a bunch of jealous kids who may actually have something as cool as my Power Rangers lunchbox instead of the cheap generic version they've been carrying around for years with them. I say, "Go for it"

Technology will always be changing every day. Cell phones now are somewhat like cars. Sure this year's model is kick a$$ but next year's will have better MPG, better features, more customizations, etc....you get the point

Pick the phone that's right for you and enjoy it. Again either phone is great IMO. I made the choice that better suited me and what I wanted. And that, my friends, is the best part of all of this...iPhone vs Droid only means that we have more options and THAT is a great thing for consumers

Ok, I'm off my soapbox now :D

It was my first time seeing an iphone 4, so I was just checking it out. Then I remembered all the times my iphone friends have rubbed it in my face, so I felt like it was my time to shine :D and you can tell she was about to insult any phone I was about to dish out to her but not the DROID X.

The thing is I didnt meant to go in there to show off my phone, I went in there cause it was my first time ever seeing an Iphone 4 and REALLY wanted to see the front face camera and the display screen which happens to be BEAUTIFUL. But as soon as the lady came up to me to ask if I had any questions on the Iphone, I remembered I had a 4.3" screen in my pocket and decided to use it to its full use. I didnt even have to pull it out. Plus I dislike AT&T.

This happened alot, were you ever one of those people who DIDNT have an Iphone when it first came out, the ones who were stuck on a Verizon plan and bought the best phones to try to compete with the iphone, probably not. Its been 3 and a half years, Iphone owners have had LOTS of bragging time and theyve sure used it. After trying to find the next "Iphone Killer" one phone after another, Im pretty sure we hit jackpot, I saw this as a solution to shut them up, I wont brag about it out of nowhere, but as soon as someone starts saying stuff about how the iphone is the best, thats where I have to stand up for Verizon. So I dont mean to sound like I walk around with my droid in my hand saying my phones better than yours to everyone, Its just as soon as someone starts bragging about there phone then everyones in the conversation.

No one was "stuck" with anything. I wasn't with AT&T and said, "Aw, shit, I'm STUCK with this company....guess I'll continue with my contract and just bring myself to upgrade to a new iPhone...again!" No, everyone has a choice. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc...the phones associated with those companies are the options one receives. If you didn't like it, get out of your contract or else renew with another company when your 2 year is up. You said it yourself...iPhone users had "3 and a half years"....that's almost two contract terms worth of time. If you wanted one that bad, you could have changed.

Enjoy the forums and I hope that you are here to contribute as we all are :)

I like the Android for its openness and its configurability, but I'm a geek. I can see how that could be overwhelming for those who are not and the iPhone's carefully managed user environment might be less daunting for those users.
