I haven't done any coding for the Android, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to write an app to use the FM receiver but hit frequencies outside the FM range. For example the 2M amateur radio band is 144 MHz to 148MHz and the 6M band is 50 MHz to 54 MHz which isn't too far above or below the FM broadcast band in the US.

I'm betting the FM receiver is only designed to hit the FM Bands 87.8 MHz to 108.0 MHz but I thought I'd ask since this would be an amazing feat if I could use my DroidX to monitor the local 2M repeaters granted I had a long enough 'antenna' connected to the earphone plug.

    Take care --

if you had a long enough antenna, you probably wouldn't have enough juice to power it, coming from the 3.5mm jack
