Is there anyway that I can get a email notification instantly when I receive an email like I did on my Blackberry? Or at least close to instantly.

    Thanks

Settings -> Accounts and Sync -> Auto Sync

I'm not aware of a way to only enable auto-sync for JUST email so if you have facebook apps etc it will auto sync that aswell, it doesn't take much out of my phones battery since I only have it for FB and EMAIL.

You need to use "push" email to get instant notification. If you email account is POP3, you will have to poll; you can poll in intervals from 5 minutes to once a day.

GMail is push email, so you will be notified as soon as you get a gMail.

You can set up gMail to read your pop account and then push the emails to your phone. Depending on how often gMail reads the POP account, this can be pretty fast. (Get mail from other accounts - Gmail Help)

    hope this helps,

When you get that notification does the LED blink red for you? Mine does but only for 29-30 blinks then turns off (I never turn on the screen). It was nice on my blackberry that the LED would flash indefinitely until I opened the email (or in androids case, until I unlock the phone and see the notification in my notification bar).

    Any thoughts?

Yeah mine will quit blinking after awhile too.

I have noticed that I am not getting email notifications on gmail anymore. If I go to gmail I find that I get like 7 or 8 unread all at once. I tried sending myself some and it doesnt do anything unless I go into gmail. Any thoughts? I thought it was supposed to push instantly
