Easy to replace digitizer - which phone

Looking for a replacement for my Evo 3d, yet another phone I have owned where the screen has cracked. I have ordered the parts to replace the Digitizer and LCD as there is currently a fairly high resale value for this phone (compared to how much I paid for it)

So I have been looking for a phone that is a step up hardware wise and a longer life on the battery. I could do with one that is reasonably easy to replace digitizer or where the digitizer and lcd are not stupid money. ie htc one x 55 GBP compared to S3 @ 140 GBP

Ideally I want one where the digitizer can be easily replaced, but having looked it seems that they getting a much stronger bond to the LCD forcing you to get the LCD as well, as is the case with the EVO 3D

The Razr max wins currently with the battery life, but again its around 140-150 GBP for the LCD+Digitizer.

Before you all shout be more careful with the phone, I do try. I just don't want to be hit with the cost if/when it cracks. Otterbox Defender maybe?

Any thoughts as to what would be suitable?

    Thanks

I know Samsung seems to charge stupid money for a replacement screen on a Galaxy S at 1500 RMB (about 150 pounds GBP). Screen was cracked, front glass OK. Not worth it for a two year old phone, a new Lenovo phone was cheaper for me and better.

BTW having had mobile phones for nearly 20 years now. I've only ever managed to bust two screens, first was a Nokia N95, and last week a Samsung Galaxy S. Screen for the Nokia was cheap, and so was worth fixing, not so with the Samsung.
