Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the HTC Hero handset.

As per your account details, the HTC Hero handset was activated on June
08, 2010. Therefore it is covered under 30-Day Risk-Free Guarantee. The
Sprint 30-Day Risk-Free Guarantee allows you to return a like-new phone.

Please visit the original purchase location, to get your phone replaced
    with the other model.

In the near future, the Android 2.1 operating platform will be available
for the HTC Hero with Google. Android 2.1 includes great new
enhancements that will help customers improve their productivity,
increase value, add more features and gain more control over their
    devices.

The Android 2.1 operating platform will be available on the Sprint Web
site, as well as the HTC Web sites. The update will need to be
downloaded to a computer and installed "over-the-wire" by plugging the
phone into the computer using a cable.

Thank you for your continued loyalty to Sprint. If you have any further
questions please feel free to contact us at answersnow@mail.sprint.com,
or you can visit our website at Cell Phones, Mobile Phones & Wireless Calling Plans from Sprint

    Sincerely,
    Dario S.

It's a canned response, and the rep that sent it to you probably doesn't even know what android is, let alone what revision is current
