Alright so I just flashed my phone to 1.8 and everything looked good but didn't transfer my emails over so I went to set them up again and was adding all the info but when I would hit next it says

    *Warning*

An account with this email address already exists. Then makes me click ok and nothing happens.

LOL no worries. What email are you trying to set up? Google? or another pop email? or Outlook? Also if you can't find the help here you may want to look at the baked snack forum and see if anyone there has posted an issue with email.

I was setting up 2 pop emails, I found out that I didn't do the wipe correctly and had the email problem fixed but I keep screwing up while trying to restore everything through recovery... Im not sure i am backing up right and then recovery it as well...

Edit: So I think i need help with the backing up/restoring part of the wipe.

Well, as a rule of thumb for me, if a dev says you need to wipe I will usually just reinstall my apps but save my data files so that the data is there when I reload them. That way you get clean installs on all apps. When you restore a back up from an older rom you could run into all kinds of issues.

Are you trying to do a nand recovery? If you are isn't a nand recovery a full back up of everything? If thats the case then you are basically restoring the old rom.

yaa thats what i did.. I don't mind doing a full wipe as long as I can have all my contacts, emails and all that back on the phone.. I have all the apps backed up with titanium backup but don't know about the contacts emails and all that how to back up..

If its third party email then when you set the account back up the email will be there (No need to back it up unless you are downloading the email from the server, which I would recommend not too just for this case.)

If its GMail, all your email and contacts are stored on their server. No need to back up, they will just load when you type in your gmail account during setup.

I tried using titanium back up once....and never used it again as I can just reload all the apps after a full wipe. I know its tedious but causes less headaches.

Well if its gmail the pics will be there. You can check by going onto GMail on the web and look at your contacts and you will see the pics. Then when you sync you should see them on the phone as well. Mine sync all the images every time i do it. The only one I have to re-do is my contact card.

I apparently didn't delete my email account correctly so when I try to reinstall it get the WARNING, THIS EMAIL ACCOUNT ALREADY EXISTS. I read your thread and was hoping you could tell me how you fixed it since your later thread stated that you did. Thanks!!
