I emailed myself a couple of ringtones (.mp3 format).
    small files ~30 kb

When i go to gmail on my phone, the ringtones are there in the email as attachments. I can "Preview" and they play fine, but I get no "Download" option. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

    TIA

You should go to your music app and find your ringtone song. Once you do, you can select that song, you click "menu -> set as ringtone". Hope that helps.

I sent it from an outside source and I need to download it to the phone in the first place, which Gmail won't give me the option to do

Yeah, download it from your web browser. Automatically saves it in the download folder on the SD card.

Yep, that's the way to do it.

The app should be able to handle it, imo.

    thanks Spork!

I'm having the same issue with all attachments. I'm unable to save them, just preview. On my friends EVO, he says he has two options, Preview and Save to SD. We're both running the OTA 2.2 released yesterday.

    Any ideas?
