Root Emails showing as read when they're not!!

Hi

I'm new to Android Phones - and I've just recently got the HTC Desire, which I love.

I use a web based email (BTYahoo) which is POP 3 and is configured to see on my phone. It works great, but I am finding particularly when I go to look at my emails on line that some emails are marked as read when they haven't been, either on the PC or the phone.

I know I'm going to miss some emails if I'm not careful, can anyone offer up any suggestions please?
