    Hey everyone. I really wanted softkeys. So I got them by going into system/build.prop then go down to the bottom of the document and paste
    Code:
    qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
    and reboot your phone. When it starts back up Baaam! You have soft keys enabled. Only problem is that it does not change the screen, it just overlaps the name of some apps.

    I dont know if it was user error on my part, but my music player just died out after editing the build prop. After taking the addition off my props my music player worked perfectly.

    I know how to get them to work, they just like to overlap the screen a little bit. So i am trying to trouble shoot and see if I can resize the screen so that they do not overlap.

    Im getting a force close on the default music player. But go to the android market and download this app. And you can use it to download music or listen to music. That is what I just tested out and it worked perfectly fine.

    Can someone explain what softkeys are to me. How does it benefit me?

    Phones like the galaxy nexus don't have the home/back/menu/recent apps buttons on the phone, so it has on screen keys so you can navigate the phone. It allows the phone to be shorter and just a screen. People like the soft keys for cosmetic reasons so they enabled them. They could help improve battery life if you use them instead of having the light on the hard keys.
