This is by no means solid proof.

Even so, Engadget is a better bet than any of the other sources of rumours we've had.

Anyone else notice that Google's new Buzz requires Android 2.0+?
A sure sign that being left out on 1.5 will soon mean missing more and more features and applications.

I know, was gutted when I tried to check out buzz on my phone only to see it wasn't supported :(

In relation to this engadget thing though, saw this earlier, timing seems about right but they don't give any proper source for it do they..?

So what will we get with this update? Will it be worthwhile? The only thing i'm wanting is bluetooth capabilities (i.e. sending/receiving pictures etc). I'm totally clueless when it comes to stuff like this - but i do love my Hero xx

Jeebus, that took long enough. I just want to be able to run new programs meant for 1.6 and above!

This is 4th or 5th info about 2.1 release for Hero yet. Hopefully, this one is true and real info. It is very sad, that HTC is treating their costumers this way....:confused::rolleyes:

If I knew this info before my purchase of Hero, I probably wouldn't buy it ....

Sadly HTC has got a bad reputation when it comes to keeping its customers informed.

Mark Moons, Regional Director HTC Benelux, recently confirmed Android 2.1 for HTC Hero will become available in March.

For a new htc hero user, installing this (when it comes out) is straight foward?

Yes, should be a case of just downloading a file and then running it on your PC with your phone connected. You may want to backup your files first.
