The score card on the droid x is only a 7 out of 10. The Incredible got an 8 and the Evo and iphone both got 9s. I know you have to base the scores on what else is out at the time (the competition, that is) and the Incredible was the best android phone on the market at the time of the review, but the X's score still seems a bit harsh.
I guess it really does come down to what you you think is the most important factors to you. Engadget seems to really put a lot of weight into the UI, camera and video interface, and the way it handled twitter.
I don't even have a twitter account. What I want is a great keyboard, great screen, snappy web browsing experience, great battery life and support for a variety of different video formats (avi, mp4, wmv). It seems to be all aces in these categories. That's good enough for me.
Also, what happens once the phone gets Froyo and fixes most of the major software issues the reviewer seemed to have with the phone? Does it all of a sudden go to 9?
I doubt it. Reviewers rarely ever go back and update their reviews after fixes have been released. It's one of the main reasons I don't take reviews as gospel.
