epic 4g or evo?

my brother want to get his first smartphone for sprint and asked him what i thought. naturally, android is the only real option. but, when taking a look at the sprint phone choices i saw the evo and epic to be the 2 best choices (i thought they had the g2, but i guess i was wrong). i really like the sense ui, but the super amoled would be nice to. anyways, whats your take on those 2? and if you have any other options let me hear them!

And - if he likes Sense and a slide-out keyboard, the Evo Shift 4G is coming January 9 - it's rumored to be very G2-like on the inside.

Oh - and the whole update to 2.2 for the Epic is confusing - seems like they pulled it back or I was referring to a leaked version or something when I wrote in that earlier thread.

Evo-family and Epic are great choices, hard to see going wrong with either.

Personally - I prefer HTC.

Epic 4G is a great phone. Keyboard is one of the best on almost any phone and the screen is just right.

As has been said, it all depends on preference. I am very happy I went with the EVO, if for no other reason than the fact that I won't have to wait for google to roll out three updates just so that I can get one

I have both, and I slightly prefer the Evo over my Epic. My Epic has more bugs / crashes, worse GPS, worse battery life.

But both phones are very nice and he should be happy with either. He really needs to play with the phones in a store and then decide.

ya i know its up to preference and i told him those are the 2 best options from sprint. i really just wanted to make sure i wasnt missing a phone!

evo just make sure u dont get the green taskiller it will make u force close alot i haz a red one
